at the weekend drove down to Barnstable and had the following suggestions:
1 Marcos (shouted by passing motorist whilst at petrol station)
2 Excaliber (in traffic jam near slough)
3 Kit car (london cabbie at wandsworth roundabout "did you make it?")

i think no.2 is the worst - have you seen the excalbier SSK replicas! Only made better by the fact that he was driving a chevy day van and clearly american- "what is it i'm taking a photo so my girlfriend can get one..."

fun

Found an old message with a Mk I remark.

It is hard to understand that an Excalibur is mixed up with an Aero 8. Hopefully the person was not sitting behind a wheel...

Sorry chaps didn't mean to be mysterious - I have a Mk 1 Aero. There is no badge on the front of mine as original I believe.

Agree that the Excalibur is odd car to mix up with. It's because it is old looking

Early Aero's were delivered with no badge, mine included, as MMC had not ordered them in good time. confused2 However, it was supposed to be retro-fitted by the selling agent when the car came in for service FOC. grin2

...you could put an Aston Martin badge on it, they're very similar wink Not to mention the value and status of your car would increase instantly happy3 hide

I've had two kids looking at my car and one said "Look! Its a Bentley..." smirk2

Yes someone mentioned Bentley as well - although I didn't count that as bad/ignorant association. I'd guess a Derby with some mods! Nearly bought a mkVI special.

I quite like the sans badge look - dealer told me early ones were all like that nice to know truth!
