I removed the front and rear bumpers off the mog and had a very close look at the weather damage under the lights in the house . Do I order new ones or try to have them re-chromed as they are no longer made . One chap quoted 2 arms and 3 legs to re-chrome , not much more for S/Steel new ones .
I then placed them in the hall on the carpet ( my wife did not mind ) as they where spotless . Come night I locked up down stairs switched the lights off closed the hall door started to walk to the staircase and went my full length over some bloody car bumpers some stupid bugger had left their . My wife heard the bang along with the swearing and started to laugh . crazy3 doh banghead

I had my MGB front bumper rechromed in 1991 because the replacements were not the right profile. It cost far more than a new one, and when I asked the bloke at the workshop if there was a guarantee he just laughed.........
It lasted without tarnishing until I sold it in 2008.

Falling over what you put there earlier is a feature of getting older..........

PS....Bath taps never seem to tarnish, but it must be a better quality process.

I had a look Turbulls went pop years ago . The only only one left is Cleveland Chroming . BUT anyone going there has a problem its in Middlebourgh near the transporter bridge . For all you world wise lads its a play area for the ladies of the night , but they now do it 24/7 . Its a difficult business to find and you cant stop and ask if you are shy like me , cos the fuzz think you have cash to spare for a knee tremble,er . They dont believe a ride in a mog and your knees are one tremble . innocent thumbs
