Some advice sort. I am going to install a Summerhouse in the garden, what are your thoughts on sprayng the underside of the floor with Dinitrol ?

Made of wood presumably? Well, I don't see why not. With any timber construction I think the vulnerable places are at the ends of the main support timbers, so make sure they get covered.
When I replaced my fence posts I soaked the bottom few inches in oil before concreting in.

As Dave says .... end grain of any planks and timbers best soaked til they can't take any more.

Keith, the pukka way is to use Tanalised joists for the base timbers, if you have to cut any to length, soak the ends in Ensele
Ensure you have some form of cross ventilation under the floor, trapped damp air will trigger rot

Indeed .... hopefully the summerhouse manufacturer included tanalising in the underfloor at least.... and the timbers were cut to length before treatment rather than the company buying treated timber then cutting it to their design. As you say, can't beat good ventilation!

I'm definitely in the 'lots of air flow' camp. We built a log cabin back in 2007, none of the timbers were treated in any way (although it was high-quality Scandinavian timber) and it's still completely sound as there's a good 250mm air gap underneath.

Preferably lay the wood floor on top of slate pads or roof felt. Last time I checked creosote was not available.
