I'm in the progress of upgrading my painted wire wheels to Stainless wire wheels. Can i please ask what your thoughts on a good make are.
MWS based near London looks a good make and made in the UK? Or is it a case of designed in the UK and now made in the far East? But has anyone got ideas of other makes and reviews. Another maker is Turrino Wire Wheels. I suppose what i'm asking has anyone upgraded in the pass and still happy with the choice you made? with the average wheel costing £700-£900 it's a massive outlay. But remember you can't take it with you.

Your help as normal is appreciated.

Turrino are beautiful, look very well made but are very expensive, they even do an alloy rim spoked design to reduce weight... circa £1k + vat each

MWS are the OE supplier to MMC, and regardless of the union jack stickers they are deffo made in India

There used to be couple of UK makers, but not used 'em for years

Turrino 17 inch alloy wire wheels on a 3.7 Roadster.

My MWS stainless wires are now 11 years old and 45,000 miles, no problems and still look perfect.

My MWS stainless wire wheels are 18 years old and also no problems.
But I don't know where they where made.....

Ditto, I would not swap my MWS stainless wires. They are 9 years old and still look the dogs.

On my 4/4 I even would not swap my painted wire wheels for stainless ones. I had weight stainless wire wheels 12 years ago on my then Roadster without tyre. They were 16“ wheels and in my view way zu heavy, some 11 plus Kg vs. 8.5 Kg for black painted 15“ wheels. About 8 Kg for my narrower 4/4 painted wire wheels.

My thoughts are, placing stainless wires on a Trad. Morgan is a down grade, for me the only option is painted wires, however for the climate conditions in UK, it is possibly a wise move, any thoughts on mini lights, they look great.

I do not think so. The stainless MWS spoke wheels are perfect. They are extremely easy to care for. I've never done anything other than spray it with wheel cleaner and rinse it every time I wash the car. After 21 years, they still shine like they did on the first day. Theoretically there is a disadvantage due to the higher weight (higher moving mass), but I don't think that this is really a negative in everyday life.

The same story as most, my own MWS wheels are 21 years old and flawless, not too sure how important the additional unsprung weight is in the context of live axle cars.
