Help,

Why are some of my photos inverting when I upload to TM IMG.

I thought I could get round it by inverting first in my iCloud photo album but that doesn't help.

Can images in TM IMG be rotated after uploading? I can't see any edit routes for this.?

An Apple / Mac "feature".

Surely even with an Apple device you can invert a photo with the resident editor then save that version so you have two, maybe then deleting the one with incorrect orientation.

If this is a feature of the host then use a different one such as Imgur.

If you take a picture with an iPhone, it will figure out if the phone is inverted (ie lens at the bottom in portrait mode, lens at the right in landscape mode) and automatically re-orient the picture when you view it in an Apple app like photos or preview.

The picture is still however in its original orientation. If when you upload to TM-IMG you select direct from the photos app in finder, it will take the original orientation of the picture and so it will appear incorrect when you upload it.

You have two choices for a solution:

1. Make sure you take pictures with your iPhone in the 'correct' orientation

or

2. Export a .jpg or .png from Photos to your desktop and upload that. This enables you to rotate, crop, or otherwise enhance any picture to your heart's content, and also adjust the size, scaling and other aspects of the picture so you don't have to post oversize pictures. This is what I do.

Here's a pic of a model I was working on yesterday, It was photographed upside down but displays perfectly correctly in tm-img

Nice work Tim. Sadly I get no time now for my railway so I've taken the decision to pack it up and dispose of it. Having done maybe a couple of hours boxing wagons, I can see it's going to take much longer than I thought, linking things with the right boxes. Plus the fact that often the loft is too cold or too hot, but I'll find the time, otherwise it will be a nightmare for someone who doesn't know railway stuff!

I have loaded quite a lot of photos over the years and never had that problem.I have just loaded two photos for a footwell locker I've put up for sale. They were all taken with my iPhone and uploaded from my MacBook. I notice that TM Images has changed in the way it works. Did that cause your problem?

That's a great looking kit you've got there Tim. I didn't know you were a railway buff.

I came back to it after half a century John. I mainly like just making model buildings out of paper and cardboard, the railway bit is more of an adjunct.
