The 'third' transporter bridge in the UK is in Warrington. My Father grew up in Widnes where there used to be a Biggy, crossing the Mersey & The Manchester Ship Canal to Runcorn. It cost a 1d per crossing for foot passengers when I last went on that one (Long Gone). They used to say 'watch out for falling Nuts & Bolts' I must look on Google Streetview for the Warrington one. Where is the Third one, Graham?

The one in Middlesbrough is very photogenic. Think what it would be like with a complete load of Morgans!

I drove back off instantly and went the long way round , the pair of us laughing like hell . I forgot he never carried any and I do the same , my wife knows me to well and always carrys some inc my plastic. The one in Middlesbrough is very photogenic. I remember Terry Scott the actor managing to drive his Jag onto the Middlesbrough transporter when the carriage was not there. Link to press article. http://rememberwhen.gazettelive.co.uk/2011/05/terry-and-the-transporter.htmlWe also have another bridge (Newport bridge), which was vertical lift bridge, but this is now locked down.
