Hello,
At my recent insurance renewal the broker picked up on a discrepancy in the model number shown on the V5C. I have a 1999 Plus Four, and in 'Vehicle Details' the Model is shown as 4/4.
I wrote to DVLA to request correction, they have bounced back requesting that I get the manufacturer Make and Model Code in writing.
Has anyone else with a Plus Four seen this discrepancy, and were you able to get it fixed via the factory?
Thanks
David

My 2008 Plus4 is shown as Variant V7, Type W62 on the V5. Don't know what that means. If you use a web database and enter the Reg. No. then mine shows up as a 4/4. Hey its a Morgan!!!

My understanding is that 4/4 was a general term used on all the models when they started making 4 wheelers rather than just 3 wheelers other than the plus 8 as it stands for 4 wheels 4 cylinders and + 4 was just a derivation of 4/4, I think later on they changed to either 4/4 or + 4 but I stand to be corrected.

My first Roadster was registered as a 4/4 and then under variant said V6 Before you insist DVLA correct it, just check your current V5 emissions for tax, as the swop may impact this

Yes, heard of this several times in the past, so you are not alone.

So did mine. Apparently it was to get around the construction and use regulations and the Roadster was a 4/4 with the V6 engine!

My understanding is that the 4/4 designation is for the 4 wheel Trad, and then variations are covered in the description.
Sometimes it's easier to accept the staus quo!

As above all are based on the 4/4 . The insurers like Gott & Wyne should cover you

All down to homologation - they're all 4/4 (those with 4 wheels) with additional variation...
