The front tyres on the new car are exactly the same as I run on my 1930 model. And are fine with my 42 bhp, although I would question them with the power and weight of the new car. I have however heard good reports on the Blockley tyres available in the same size , but I think from an aesthetic point of view, the new car would not look right with them.

19" though is pretty much the historic motor-bike tyre size so there is reasonable choice in that size if you don't want to go too fast.

I did say, what I'd read 'suggested' Morgans had detuned the engine, but if the dealer's car was still in the first 20 hours of life, a lower rev limit could be an explanation. I'm sure the writer will get to the bottom of this shortly as his car is about two weeks from delivery.

I wonder if the rims would bend under heavy cornering... I hope this car oversteers every so slightly, because understeer will probably be scary with rims that small.

really looking forward to having a passenger ride in one of these, seems like a huge amount of fun to drive and own one, this concept is really starting to grow on me.

It must be a joy to hit every single apex, every single time because you can see what the suspension is doing and where the wheel is in relation to the curbstone... this is going to be a cool machine to handle

The only problem about fitting bike tyres is the insurance......they might not like the idea.

PJH.....Top Gear is going to be driving the M3W in the forthcoming series. If it survives what Clarkson and his boys throw at it I'm sure it will stand up well to normal (sporty) road use!

I removed myself for my slot a while back, thinking I'd rather wait to see what happens with this thing.

Coming back to read about it, I'm glad I did. I still want one, but I want to be sure what I'm buying, to be honest.

The problems with the extra (much extra!) weight, the problems with the belt, and the solution to the combination of those two problems - to detune the engine by 25 percent (!) makes me glad I did, even if that means I have to wait some more.

I know none of it is absolutely certain, but if the reasoning is that the belt is screwed with more power and/or weight, it sort of limits its fun factor quite a bit to me.

I'll be following the tidbits of information you guys provide closely, because I so want one.

Oh, and I'm disappointed about the reported "huge turning circle" too. It's a small car, I'd prefer it if it could have a turning circle on par with, or better than, a Lupo.

I realise that.....I wasnt thinking when I posted! What I meant to say was if the engine was tuned. The speed rating is pretty low

Blockleys are 130mph rated!
