Just thinking about servicing for when I get back to France early next month, am I correct in assuming that as the tappets are hydraulic, there is no requirement to set valve clearances.

You are correct, they are hydraulic tappets. If you have roller rockers there is a preset procedure, other than that no tappet adjustment.
