Hang on a second! can we confirm that you are talking about a mohair soft top, if not and its the everflex then something is amiss. The Everflex tighten and or stretch but size stays the same whereas the mohair will shrink. If you've had the frame off, go back and reassess. even if its a mohair hood you put it back on the car when wet so it should have been ok unless you had previously left the hood down when damp or wet? then washed it and assumed the wash caused the issue.

Yes a mohair hood. I've checked the frame assembly with pics of fthe swivel pivot website and that looks ok. The hood has always been a bit tight but its not been on all winter so not kept to shape. I guess washing it off the car was a bad idea. Its also cold out in the garage so have warmed it up.
The hood is now on as the back end was clipped down overnight but disconnected from the windscreen. Seems that its settled down width wise. I've heated it up with a hairdrier and that has helped easing it back onto the windscreen. I like the idea of hot water bottles but will go a stage further and put an electric blanket over the hood to warm it up evenly (yes really!) and help it to settle down.

Well done you got there! Now remember to put the hood up when you've finished playing! If it's been a truly boiling hot day and I'm using the car again that week I will leave my hood down but if it's seen any precipitation I always put it up fully clipped down when back in the garage. When its fully dry I often release the rear clips so as not to over stretch it, that way the roof stays nice and tight if you need it clipped down when driving. Just for info, you can quite easily drive around with the screen clipped down but the rear bonnet fasteners left undone. I have even seen a couple of cars with the rear screen section clipped/tied up, the roof otherwise still up and the side screens removed creating a sort of bikini top giving sun protection and open top air-flow!
