Doesn’t really directly help with wind noise, but as DaveW says, it reduces the turbulence from the air that would otherwise be drawn forwards between the headrests. This means it is fractionally easier to be heard by any passenger 😉

Yep. Fully agree with DaveW. Also the fine net/mesh variants are really not as good as a home made Perspex type, The clear sheet offers total visibility and blocks all the turbulent air-flow from behind the car which these things stop (to a degree!). Noise factor will remain the same I'm afraid!

Thanks for the advice, it seems that the general consensus it that not a lot to be gained that keeps the passenger less wind blown than using a scarf- and noise is no better?

The best I have found is to run with the side curtains up. The added benefit is being able to talk without shouting. The downside is that the side curtains are up.
