The revolving door of my garage has delivered a replacement for the TR7 in the form of a much modified 1965 Triumph Herald ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2024/04/30/IMG_9251.jpeg) It’s a bit of an eyeful but has some fine engineering underneath. Spitfire 1500 twin carb with warm tuning to around 85bhp (weighs under 800kg so over 100bhp per ton) 4 branch 2 inch Vitesse sports exhaust Spitfire 4 speed o/d gearbox Vitesse front and rear suspension and brakes Rebuilt and maintained over the last 15 years to the tune of £12k It’s a bit of a sleeper.

Very nice - I was thinking of a Herald before I bought my MG, but they hold their price too well.

Lovely car, enjoy! I am puzzled by the front bumper, not the overriders, is that original or is the bonnet plastic? I am not a detailed Triumph insider, but thought they were made out of steel!?

Nice find, it looks in lovely condition. Enjoy the sunshine when it arrives.
I learnt to drive in one and the steering lock is amazing and helped with the three point turns no end.

1959 triumph herald was the first car I ever bought. £80. Front bumper was steel but body coloured. Although mine was very rusty so I covered the bumper in a stick on marble effect material called contact. My parents were not impressed with the car. Mine had a reserve petrol tank thing, sometimes got you home....in those days I could only afford £1 petrol a week which was exactly 4 gallons. Mine was not really a good car, it had been well thrashed before I owned it, and after a few months it was replaced by a Sunbeam Rapier. Fond memories of it though, it was freedom for me

Needs a few bits and bobs which I quite like but nothing major, mostly replacing rubbish Far Eastern parts that wear out far too quickly.
