The June issue of “Classic & Sports Car” has a nice article comparing 4 versions of Morgan, from the 3-Wheeler to the Roadster. They are also featured on the front cover.

Indeed, although the criticism that it lays down just a bit too much power for the antiquated chassis is a fair one, but that just means you have to know how best to tame it and deploy that power, which is part of the fun of the Roadster. I don't know if the model driven in the article had the Morgan installed rear suspension upgrades of the latter models. That makes a big difference.

Exactly!
They all seem to expect the car's electronics to that for them nowadays! doh

I concur!
I changed from a ‘93 4/4 with 1.6cvh efi ( about 110 bhp.) to a 2002 Plus8 . A substantial power AND torque increase. I took my time learning the response. The end result was much more confidence and enjoyment. The 4/4 involved rev/gear management on faster (cough) runs keeping up with roadsters/Plus8’s. I realised I needed a bigger engine to reduce engine stress and have a better long distance tourer.
I have adopted a similar learning process for the Plus Four. Kickdown, paddles and Sport modes so far. Sport+ next !
I haven’t driven a Plus Six but the extra 100 bhp would definitely need a big dose of learning. I have been informed by a Plus Six owner that “it’s good to frighten yourself occasionally”. This from a very experienced biker with racing pedigree!

I refer to our Roadster sometimes (in comparison to other Mogs) as a long legged super tourer

The great unwashed will always make inappropriate comparisons, because they really don't understand the appeal, and most never will. Any Morgan transforms the journey into something special. We're currently in Portree, and we both know that doing this road trip in either our Golf GTD, or Polo GTI wouldn't come close to how it is in our Plus 4.
