Well, I was one day away from taking it out beyond the Little Desert Valley I live in. I owned it all over a year and I thought I had the bugs worked out well this morning my clutch failed. It failed away where it seem to be difficult to chef at the last stoplight on his app and then, the pedal seemed really soft and then after that, it didn’t really want to disengage. Waiting for the tow man to get here and take me in the Morgan home.
I’m likely to be on my own on this because I’m 130 miles away from the only dealer in this side of the USA and he’s point-blank told me is maintenance man who works on three days a week and aren’t interested in maintaining vehicles they just wanna sell them. I’m pretty good with mechanicals. This one might be a chance for me to stretch my wings. Once I get home and can see a full computer screen can do a surge. I’ll do my proper homework and make sure no one‘s posted all the information I may need. Obviously, the first thing I’m gonna check is fluid. but any advice you chaps can pass my way would be most appreciated.
I’ll post some information once I know what I can see after putting her on the jack stads, hopefully by tomorrow morning
Cheers,
Will

Likely to be one of three things. Clutch needs bleeding, bleed valve is under oil tank. Failed master cylinder. Failed slave cylinder which is an engine out job.

Hey thanks for the replies so far. This 3-wheeler is a 2014, #6 of 50 Brooklands edition. First owner had only 628 miles on it when I purchased in April 2023. At about 947 miles I had to get the exhaust TIG welded back together o the right side, along with flex joints and new bobbins. Over 1200 miles since that event. Currently just about 2200 miles on it. The clutch never slipped, even yesterday when I had this breakdown. I grew up driving manual transmission vehicles so I never ride the clutch so my hope is not having to pull the engine. It was hard to disengage twice, but acted normally for a couple of miles and then when I finally pulled over at a petro/food stop she wouldn't disengage without braking and stalling the engine.
She's on jack stands so I can inspect underneath. No fluid leaks noticed in a brief inspection so far. Today I will look closer at the pedal box for leaks and try to bleed the system.

Will - When you bleed the system if the fluid has any black particles in it, then it is a sign that the rubbers have perished in the master cylinder which then needs replacing. When my clutch failed up a Swiss mountain it was the slave cylinder which, as Rog says is an engine out job. If you do have to take the engine out then upgrade the clutch plate as the stock Morgan one has poor quality springs that commonly fail. Upgraded Clutch Plates are available from Phil Bleazey or M3W Services.

So I got started looking into this this AM and my bleed valve is located under the oil cooler in front, not under the oil tank. This pic shows where it's located. The braided hose leading into it is labeled properly as clutch. https://tm-img.com/image/SPtjqDid a short flush to see what the fluid looked like. It is dark and looks like the "dirt" may be pulverized black seal material, but IF it is, it's very finely ground up. NO visible particles in the brake fluid, just dark as you can hopefully see in the photos. When I got back into the cockpit after my lovely wife assistant got out, the clutch felt firm like before, but the firmness wasn't from the start of depressing the pedal. It only firmed about 30% depressed. Feels like the clutch is releasing but I guess I need to take it down off the stands and see. If the master cylinder at the pedal box is not leaking visibly I am beginning to think this is the slave and I'm up for a long haul to resolve this. Any more advice would be warmly welcomed! Thanks everyone! https://tm-img.com/image/SPxJh

I actually own number 29 Brooklands and from what you describe, the very same thing happened to me last year. Clutch pedal wasn't disengaging and like you say, when attempting to change gear didn't firm up straightaway more like after 30% I was fortunate enough to make it home. Ended up being the master cylinder which needed replacing at a cost of around £200 supplied from M3W Services in Swindon UK and relatively easy to fit
Like someone said tho if slave cylinder its an engine out job. I recently had the Bleazey Centa upgrade and found one of clutch plate springs had snapped which is quite common. Phil Bleazey or M3W Services can supply upgraded clutch plate. Good luck

Started 2 days before (seemed like a gearbox problem). Sometimes the clutch worked, and sometimes it didn’t. On my 2015 the cylinder is behind the pedal box so a reach to get to…
