Had a MOT done today and took the opportunity to look under the car I did an oil change not so long ago but that was on jacks so not quite the same. I was expecting a few dents and gouges after coming in contact with sleeping policemen and our green lane roads in sunny Pembrokeshire but the only slight damage was a scraping at the edge of the gearbox skid plate. When I eventually get to use my mates lift I'm going to sikaflex a small piece of flat ali onto the rear of the skid plate may even rivet it on. The scraping sound we sometimes get obviously sound's worse than it really is thankfully. Em

We had a 100 mile drive out over Exmoor yesterday ending up at Combe Martin by the sea, nice drive but big trucks had been ahead of us dragging branchs out of the trees, two we could not avoid as they were on a bend, so we had a few knocks from underneath, stopped at the first layby as I was concerned over the front oil cooler, but all was ok, no sign of damage other than some light scrape marks in the black sealant Morgan use on the alloy undertrays... So lucky.. Also came across potholes on the main A road that looked like meteor impact craters!. The Gov keeps saying there is money to patch the potholes, but either someone is talking porkies or the Devon and Somerset councils are not undertaking the work.. The roads are in a hell of a state, the worse thing is that apart from the potholes there are signs everywhere of cracking and sumping of the road surfaces.. A couple more years of this and there will nothing but tracks left. I cant remember seeing proper resurfacing being taken on our local roads for over 6 years now..

….. I cant remember seeing proper resurfacing being taken on our local roads for over 6 years now.. It seems to be a function of where you are. Where we live, in South Notts, the roads are terrible and any repairs are either patches or big patches. Driving through the East Riding of Yorkshire this afternoon on very smooth roads, one of which had recently been frost sealed - something that rarely happens round our way, I feel we now live in a very divided country.
