Taffmog,

I believe all the M3W have a 6 liter oil tank capacity. My 2012 certainly did until I replaced it with a thicker walled 7 liter unit I had fabricated. 2 liters is quite small, and half the size specified by S&S for this engine in their literature. If your tank was in fact a measured 2 liters, then it had to have been a retrofit. Photos?

I had to replace the oil tank after blowing out one end. Don't ask. The new tanks with the built-in drain plug on the side will hold five liters comfortably. Six may be over doing it. There is a built-in oil gauge using two stepped plates just below the fill. The lower will be reached and covered with four liters and the upper will top out at five. Put the sixth in the boot and call it a day.

What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.

No.3 was a very early car. Did it have the same small oil tank as the Geneva car? [Linked Image]
