I've looked through old threads but can't find any suggestions or instructions to completing a front end alignment on the M3W. A few suggestions on the rear tire, but I can't find anything on the front. Did I miss this? If so, I apologize in advance.

We Americans are a little slower to recognize our mothers. Or, we simply took the old saying, "April showers bring May flowers" to heart, and decided that the laws of supply and demand would work in our favor and we would be able to procure flowers at a discount rate.



Definitely not in the manual, nor the parts book. I think this falls into the "Take it to your Morgan service center" category. The manual says to check for uneven wear and take to your dealer if uneven wear is detected. However, mine is over 1000 miles away. My tires would be worn away, as would the outer rim. I would be trying to aerate the road with spoke spikes.

Not much to an alignment, as there is no adjustment for caster or camber with the standard suspension, only toe. I've tried toe in from 0 to 1/16" to 1/8" total, and have settled on 1/16. There wasn't much to notice between 1/16and 1/8, but 0 was definitely more nervous. Given the very stiff springing of these machines combined with their less than stiff chassis, I don't think they have much sensitivity to suspension fine tuning. The string method is not something I've explored on the M3W, though I've used it with success on 4 wheelers many times in the past.

Only adjustment on a standard car would be the toe in/out as per Bitsobrits.
The camber/castor will naturally change over time as the upper front wishbone mountings come closer together...

My dealer, Morgan Motors of New England, told me he set mine to 0. It is a bit twitchy. There have been many discussions about the steering. Most of it boiled down to: Morgan took the easy and cheap way out when designing the car and totally ignored Pete Larson's steering solutions on his 3 wheeler. Too bad as it works. We have twitchy steering and excessive tire scrubbing. I've gone through 7 pair of fronts in 55,000 miles.

I'd suggest you get the car looked at properly - they aren't twitchy at all and that tyre wear is excessive unless your running on motorbike tyres.
