Spending time idly scrolling thro’ eBay and came across some stainless steel air vent escutcheon plates. I think they’d look a treat but I think to fit sensibly it’s be a screen out job. (Don’t want to do that!). Anybody done it with the screen in? Any tips ?

If you mean the demister vents on short door cars you can do that with the screen in

......came across some stainless steel air vent escutcheon plates. Not quite sure what you're looking for, something like this maybe ? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321416166973 I have some in "doll's house" size which I have had for years but never really found a use for them. And dishwashers have nice perforated stainless filters, perhaps you could raid one from the Tip ?

Yes, the mogparts items are the ones I’m thinking of fitting. Just can’t see an “easy” way of removing and reinstalling the new ones

Less than 10 mins to remove the 'screen on a Mog...what's the problem (just make sure you label the side screws position if they differ in length when removed)

Screen out with pillars so easy, or you could try a angled screwdriver.

Thanks. Just been looking at it in the garage. Looks as simple as taking off 4 domed bolts and then lifting up the screen (with pillars). Is it really that simple?

No don't do that you need to take out the 4 screws. Watch the lengths as the wrong way around they can touch & break the screen.
