I own a 2000 Morgan Roadster plus 8 and considering purchasing a Quickjack scissor lift (5000Tl). Have any of you had an experience using a Quickjack and would a 5000TL be the right size and size? Any recommendations, proper & safe lifting points? Thank you for any feedback, Bill

I love the quickjack for my 1991 plus 4... regret not buying them sooner.
Lift Points.... the rear can be set on the standard rubber blocks....Buy the pinch weld blocks for the front... The split will fit exactly between the front cross member u frame.

Trick- look for them on sale at home Depot, etc here in the states. saved a bunch on them. let me post some photos for you.

Yes. there's enough space to roll under the car and do most service without problem. It makes things a lot easier such as greasing the front end and tire rotation. you can also roll under it to get the u-joints, etc. I really liked it when I did the timing belt. The 5000 version easily lifted the the 3,500lb Corvette.

I’ve got the Quickjack 3500 which can take 1500kg, almost twice as much as the weight of a Plus 4.

I use a battery jump start pack to power the hydraulic pump; very easy and a great piece of kit. I just use the rubber blocks (two each side on the chassis), no need for anything else as it’s very stable. It also has two working heights which lock in so you can disconnect the hydraulic lines when in position and you can get under the full length of the car as there isn’t any jacking frame going side to side. When not in use the ramps can be easily moved and don’t take up much room.

I also have the Quickjack 3500, lifts the Plus Six easily and they slide in from the side with no issues. Ours also uses a 12v battery to power the hydraulics via jump start cables to the hydraulic pump contacts, I use a fresh charged battery from a Quad bike, works fine. I think if it was available I would go for the 240V powered version, but only because its easier to just plug it in etc.

The Quickjacks are not light, but they are not hugely heavy, more luggable.. I hang them on our garage walls from home made fabricated brackets, but you can purchase wall brackets to hang them from Quickjack.
The max lift height allows easy access under the car and I use the locking half lift height when removing wheels, checking suspension etc, I have a mechanics stool and its the right height to sit and work.
The only point to raise is that they are ideal for home maintenance etc, but I am not sure they would be that easy if you wanted them to take a gearbox out through the bottom etc..
