I don't get why we should wait until owners have driven it. Confirmation bias springs to mind.
current demo-cars don't have the latest spec, owner cars will have them journo's writing on the very short driving experience rather than ownership experience in september 2012 I'll drive my 3whr through the Pyrenees for a week and then leave for Italy, on the way back home to Brussels we'll travel through the Alps, with of course the Stelvio (if it goes round short bends easily) might be able to tell you how the breaks keep up but it is no 911, so the rear brake is not the hardest working part of the cyclecar

AQM, I think it's important to remember that unlike almost any other car manufacturer, Morgan have given liberal access to their development process, as opposed to doing it all in secret and then showing a polished pre-production vehicle. This access though shouldn't oblige them to give continual updates on why they have change this or that part. No, what we need are Morgan settling on solutions and tell us why, and not as they appear to do now: Bumbling around in the dark. current demo-cars don't have the latest spec,owner cars will have them Personally AQM I find your post about Morgan bumbling around in the dark as very unfair to the engineers involved and far from the actuality. I think Philip's post stated the position quite succinctly as far as I am concerned. Also, Steven (1560) has made an important point and from my recent visit to the factory I am more than satisfied with the level of engineering and finish on my car. As regards your own potential purchase of a M3W, I'll quote a well-known idiom: you pays your money and you takes your choice...

my opinion:
Asbo can't be objective as he only judges objects in the way the environment in which it is contained has an influence on the shades of the paintjob Blimey sounds like you've been on some sort of feng shui courses. Might get that printed on my business cards though.

You might need to kick the back end a bit with a bit of throttle to get round some of those bends...it doesn't have the tightest of turning circles!
Right...REAR BRAKE issue.
It IS a drum...I looked at Allon Whites demonstrator this morning and very neat looking it is (The brake that is...although the car is rather tasty!). Jacking up to drop the swing arm will probably need to be on the rear of the alloy under tray which covers the chassis tubes....no doubt that'll be covered in the owners handbook. Someone asked about checking rear tyre pressures....easy to access the shell from the top with the plastic luggage tray out of the way.
Allon White's demonstrator is pretty new to them and they say the cush drive is now fine as is the noise from the rear transfer box.
They have already fitted their demonstrator with some of their own goodies, leather flapped map pockets, rather nice leather padded restraints fitted into the roll bars and a tonneau bag.
What a nice dealership...made me very welcome and showed me around. Impressed with their hoods which is what I went to look at. Interesting that they strip off the windscreen frame from the glass (studded headers) to replace with smooth frame to accept their hoods.......I'd been told by the factory that you could not buy the windscreen glass without a frame as its too fragile to dismantle.

sounds like an interesting trip, by any chance did you snag any photos of the extras that they had on this car?

AM, sorry, but when your argument is that it's unfair "because they're nice guys", it sort of shows you're a bit too close to look at the product in and of itself.
If they can get the weight down so I can register it either here or in Australia, or perhaps even Germany, and if they can settle on solutions I'm either happy with or can alter myself, I'll get in line again.

Those "leather flapped" pockets? Can you explain what you mean? I'm thinking of those elasticated pockets I've seen in Morgans, but you say they're "flapped"? What do they look like, and where have they placed them?
Also, you mention leather padded restraints fitted _into_ the roll bars? How does that work?
Man, I wish you had some pics of those things you saw.

If you intend quoting me, have the courtesy not to put words in my mouth. I have judged the product based on both my recent Works visit (and several others) and my anticipated usage of my own car. Period.
