I've a question. Just seen politicians claiming green energy is cheaper, no question.
Is it really? If so why have all our energy bills increased massively to fund the subsidies?
Or are they just including nuclear and the ludicrous under estimating of the cost of clearing up after that?
I'm mystified. Please help me out.

It will be cheaper o[ operate. There is no fuel cost.
However, the capital cost of building sufficient green energy generation capacity cannot be ignored.
It is this capital requirement that needs a subsidy.

Today I had the chance to look at a drilling site for the Eavor Loop. They are drilling 4500m vertical and another 3000m lateral water channels in 12 x 4 Loops. Means more than 300km drilling as an investment. After that the thermal energy from the deep does all the energy to operate the thing and they estimale to get a steady 64MW for heating or 8 MW electricity from that drilling with very little operating cost and nearly no clean up. Getting rid of the soil seems not to be without side effects but at the end one will see very little left from the technology... www.eavor.de

They also seem reluctant to discuss what the "special fluid" consists of.
But what really surprises me is that Starmer can say that renewables are cheaper, talking in the present tense and no-one questions it.
I don't know of any renewable energy already working that is anything other than hugely subsidised by gov and levies on domestic bills.
I thought we had some experts on here who would educate me but all quiet so far....
