Can anyone tell me how to find the fuse for the washers on a 2003. 4/4. I have tested the pump and it works fine just not getting power when connected. Thanks

According to gomog diagrams it should be a 10 amp fuse, which also feeds the wipers. So if the wipers still work, it is unlikely to be the fuse. The diagram doesnt show numbering of fuseways but it is about half way along on one of the fuse banks.

Assuming your wipers do work, eliminating fuse as cause, suggest checking power feed to pump when washers operated. Could be stalk switch or wiring from same. Look for light green/black wire from stalk.

The connector to the wiper motor, also routes the washer feed, on my 2011 4/4. I have had problems with that whole switch assembly. Amazingly at one time the plug just coming loose a bit, was causing a dead short on the w/pump circuit. I have recently replaced it as it was causing wiper park problems.

According to wiring diagram the power to washer pump for corresponding stalk switch action comes from light green/black wires from switch feeding washer connectors for both left and right hand drive versions (common main loom). The corresponding (slow) feed from stalk switch being on a separate wire to wiper motor. However those diagrams have been proven to be very inaccurate in that area.
What does seem to be accurate though are the wire colour codes for those at the wiper motor loom connector since they follow current standard Lucas codes: red/light green - slow blue/light green - fast brown/light green - park black - motor ground green - constant (with ignition on) +12 volts to allow parking with wiper switch off.

Hi Richard. Yes that is what I thought. A few months back now, prior to having the wiper single wipe park problem. I was getting every now & again a dead short on the washer pump motor feed. All the wiper functions were fine. Just trying the washer would blow the 10 amp fuse. I’d fix it but not knowing how, I even changed the wiper stalk, with one obtained from E-Bay. Finally I found that the park & motor assembly on the wiper motor was allowing the plug to creep back about 2 mm. Not a lot but was slightly loose. Pushing it home & using a clip arrangement solved the problem. I could reproduce the fault just by easing the plug back, but I could not see how the short was occurring. In my case a short but maybe the OP has an open circuit. As you say sometimes the wireing diagrams are no help at all.

Thanks Bob. Given that the wiring diagrams available for your era car are completely wrong with regard to wiper stalk switch connections, can you confirm that screen wash is a standalone command from the stalk switch or integrated with slow wipe as with later relay controlled cars that give three full sweeps after screen wash command is released?

Actually I may have answered above question myself. At a Mog gathering yesterday I noted a year 2000 T16 engined Plus 4 had the same Lucas STC4016 wiper stalk with relay operated intermittent wipe. Unless anyone can claim otherwise it seems possible this was used on same model at least back until 1992 when M16 engine in Plus 4 was replaced by T16. Not sure of wiper arrangements on other Morgans of this era though

Yes Richard, it is a Land Rover discovery stalk. Pulling towards yourself starts the washer motor & wipers. Release, washer motor stops, wipers do 4 more strokes. (2011 4/4)
