Thanks guys. Alan, many thanks... Easy once you know how... though my failed logic caused me to click on the image then look for a way of finding the link to copy, and at that stage it seemed the only link available to copy and paste back on the forum, was the link it`s self thus no pic displayed on the forum just the link as per my attempt to post the pick of JHS II`s Twink.... Duh..!

Saxonian, thanks for your efforts but I already had that part sorted for first time posting of images on the gallery to share on TM... It was trying to re post the images that were already in my gallery that caused me the issues...Now sorted thanks to Alan`s efforts..

Not failed logic at all, a perfectly reasonable assumption. It took me a while to find the solution as it's by no means obvious.

I find it frustrating that some members using this forum find so much difficulty in posting images to display directly. I'm sure many regard it as a necessary evil attached exclusively to Talk Morgan although it's not. All the several forums I belong employing "bulletin board" (BB) software, which has been around for decades, work the same in this respect.

Instructional video's aside all that is required is a valid picture link which ends .jpg, .jpeg, .png or .gif. Once copied this is added into the post between image tags so the full picture addition looks like this: Without a valid picture link which includes one of the suffix options above and within image tags, you are wasting your time - it will not display in your post!

Most picture hosting sites give an option to include your picture already formatted as above and labelled BBCode. If you only have the plain picture link copied though you can use the forums picture icon (to right of smiley) to allow tags to be added or manually add them via keyboard.

To illustrate a post you can also use pictures directly from the web. Many have a .webp suffix now though but changing this to an acceptable .jpg seems to work.

Finally, it's clear from the number of failed attempts that users are not aware of the Preview option. Using this button in advance of posting will determine if your post displays as intended.

An indicator of the advanced years of most Morgan / TMForum oldies (re having familiarity with ye olde BB usage)?
Social Media users (FB, LinkedIn etc) are used inline uploads. Despite being in my retirement decade AND a Comp Sci BSc, I never really used bulletin boards. Ergo, no surprise to me that folks find it surprising/challenging (a) they need to use a separate host to load photos and (b) then need to find some way to insert some BB code into the text to show said photos!
The equivalent in the IT world is the move from scripting / code to low code / no code solutions... e.g. where the process of load / embed could be managed by the forum software not by the PBU (Poor B***** User)

TM is the only forum of the half dozen I frequent that has this obtuse image adding process (the others all just require a drag and drop of an image in suitable format.) Yes, it’s not terribly difficult once you have it figured out, but neither is it easy or intuitive. And if you only post images a few times a year, there is the inevitable “Now how does this work again?” moment. The process is simply out of sync with current practice, hence the unending questions on the subject.

But, it occurs to me that Morgan’s are out of sync with current practice in most every way, and that doesn’t bother me, so never mind.

I am just grateful that there is a process by which we can upload pics and view those posted by others, thanks Peter, and that forum members are happy to assist old duffers such as I to post them when we get into difficulties for whatever reason, so THANKS guys....

It's human nature, everyone always wants the easiest option. Early motorists thought nothing of warming their engine oil on the stove before starting their vehicles on a Winter morning. Today's car owners consider putting a key into a lock an unwarranted inconvenience.

When the wonders of the World Wide Web were new people were grateful when you explained its intricacies, happy in their achievements and delighting in knowledge gained. Now the novelty has long gone and everyone takes the internet for granted, very few want to know how it works. Even simple concepts like BB and HTML are seen as technical "mumbo jumbo" that a user shouldn't need to be bothered with. It's one of the reasons I gave up doing IT support!

Although more comfortable with a spanner and mallet than computer, I found the photo process here quite easy to use, and I like TM Img as it keeps all my Morgan photos in the same place. People often ask 'how did you do x,y and z' and I can they go straight to TM Img and find details.

There are other forums I use that you can add photos directly, but they usually have a file size limit, so I have to faff around re-sizing photos before I can upload. No worries with TM, upload the photo, paste it into the message.

Ian, had you red the thread on memories from LM 2002 where I attempted to post pics and which Paul kindly resolved for me.... I choose to identify as a selective Luddite these days..
