Advice please. The angle bracket joining the header rail to the hood frame on my 06 plus 4 failed this a.m. The lug into the rail sheared and the welds failed.
Is it possible to buy the angle bracket unit or can anyone recommend a small fabricator in Skipton, North Yorks area to try to make one for me?
Thanks

J, which hood fastening do you have as you are right on a change over time as the duratec cars started to come in. Is it the A pillar, part of the screen/car or the clip attached to the hood.
Any chance of a picture?

J, go into Brands hatch Morgan web page select parts then 2006-14 classic. scroll down to hood parts and you should see the clip/hold down you need!

They can be rewelded. You can remove the rubber seal and unscrew the rail from the chrome U tube. MMC use very little weld, get both sides done & replae the seal rubber

Not sure if this helps but as you can see the part that has come adrift whilst shown has no part number reference as it's an integral part of header rail. As suggested you will need to get it re-welded.

Thanks Richard. Useful diagram. The angle fitting that sheared is not shown but I understand that it can be welded. Regards, Ross

My rail also had to be rewelded.

Some years ago I unscrew the rail after I took out the rubber and then took the rail to a locksmith's shop to reweld the parts.

This time Franky at Morgan Park only took off the whole hood, lifted the rubber slightly to reweld the angle brackets...

Much less much effort than I had some years ago.
