My 4/4 is a daily driver all year round. Hard top for winter. Every time the hard top is put on or taken off, the car feels completely different. Just like getting a "new" one each time. Basically it is our run about. The guys at our local Tip are now quite used to it pitching up with assorts piled up in it.
I think TBM will agree they like being driven.

Just out of curiosity what sort of price do people think a low mileage 2015 4/4 should be?
Advertise at 34k if you are happy to wait but if you want to shift 28k and be prepared to go to 25k I think would be realistic hide in todays market.

I sold my 2016 4/4 with approx 14,000 miles for ÂŁ35.000, but that was August last year. Which is pretty much what I paid Williams for it in 2017. I had over 6 years of fun.

Yes and that is the whole point “fun” and in fairness Craig you had invested a fair amount into improving yours and was by far the best kept car on the forum. Therefore the price you got was a very good one, today though you may not have had the same result as the market is shifting pretty quickly downwards.

Possibly but he does use a wee tin top for the commute to and fro school I think albeit in an MGBGT of late.

I did invest a fair amount your correct. The fella who bought it didn’t even want to see under the bonnet or underneath, he didn’t care about the extras. He bought it based on condition and the Sports Sand colour.

K, I suspect there many ways in which Morgans can bring a little bit of something extra into the lives of those who might be fortunate enough to enjoy them in whichever way they choose, be it as a toy, hobby, metal mistress or whatever....? (-:

Yep for the last 14 months the commute has been in my 1980 MGBGT (do about 300miles a week) interspersed with the Mog for occasional school days, weekends and holidays. Both could be classed as 'toy' cars in some hands - I know many MG's from the club that do barely my monthly mileage in a year.

Often chat with people as I'm tinkering on the drive - some initial comments are 'have you won the lottery?', but when I point out that I don't have another car, and the combined value is under ÂŁ20K they soon realise I'm just some twat who enjoys playing with big toys.

I do consider the cars and bikes as toys for me, as I get so much enjoyment out of them. I popped in for a chat with Mike Pullen yesterday and I said that no matter how crap my day at work has been, I always look forward to the drive home. Couldn't say that about the Corsa - eminently practical and cheap to run, but completely soul-less. I don't like driving the Mrs VW Golf for the same reason.

i certainly don't see them as investments - the complete opposite in fact - I bought the Mog for ÂŁ17K, must have spent at least ÂŁ8K (probably much more) over the last 5 years on seats, gearbox, engine etc, and she's now probably worth ÂŁ15K max. However, don't care. I'll take her to the grave.

Yes it's all about the enjoyment and big smile factor, and as far as petrol heads go you are right up there.
