I think it was Simon who kindly showed me the headrest pads on his light blue Aero at at the Brands Hatch Morgan day at Goodwood. I've followed his example and had the team at Allon White make me a set also.
I'm very pleased with the result and the team in Cranfield were great to deal with, so I thought I'd pass on the recommendation.

- looks great but be careful you don't lose them when 'pressing on'..... drive

I have the same type, made by Allon Whites and they had a tendency to lift due to wind turbulence.

I fabricated some light alloy strips which go under the headrest 'pockets' and attach to the seatbelt guide bolts; see images below -

Thanks James - Allon White have supplied some velcro fasteners to reduce the risk, which they did mention. I'll have a think about what else I might do.
Beard
p.s. Nice V8 mascot - your car looks great.

Yes, I've had a couple of sessions grovelling around in hedges to retrieve my passenger pad that had made a break for freedom.

I really do like your idea James, are those alloy strips riveted into either side of the leather pad?

- yes David;I made them from a bit of alloy strip and bent them to the shape of the seat top curve.

I then put a rivet at either end to secure the alloy strip to the pads, covering the rivet heads with a leather patch.

They are then attached to the actual seat by using the seat belt guide mount - so only attached at one side but this seems to work just fine.

- thanks David thumbs

Forgot to mention (it was a while ago!) , I used a strip of scrap leather/suede to cover over the alloy strip, inside the headrest if that makes sense?

The idea was that it would add a little adhesion to the strip but also stop the alloy marking the top of the seat should I wish to remove them at any time.....
