When I shipped my +8 to the USA from the UK back in 2018 this was the road in a 4000 mile road trip I was most looking forward to driving. Would love to do it again.

Room reservation made! Now I just see if I reserve a trailer, or convince my wife to let me buy one! smile

when it is a question of "buyinb" I always say, "it is cheaper than going to the bars"

Update: We had four M3W's and five people for a great time! Always nce to meet new friends. Turns out I am the "old man" of the group.

We had rain off and on the first day so it was only a lunch ride. Day 2 we "Slayed the dragon" and took the scenic route home. Day three we went to Dales Wheels Through Time MC museum.

I had suspected as much, but it turns out I am buring oil (5 quarts in 750 miles). This was especially evident when I was doing a lot of engine compression braking. Unfortunately I will not be able to work on the M3W until late December, obviously starting with a compression check. Hopefully it is only valve guides, but the worry is parts availablity as the X-wedge is made of unobtanium

Sorry not directly M3W related but many years ago while driving my +8 circa half way through France on our way to Italy I had used up the litre of oil I carried just in case...Unable to find any oil to my liking in the m/way services, I spotted a can of STP oil additive.. So just added that to bring my oil level up to the mark on the dipstick.... Never needed to add another drop of oil on the circa 2.5k miles left on that trip... Go figure..?

The only thing worse than an "oil" thread, is one about oil additives. goodnight
