When I was young, a couple of friends and I borrowed a couple of his monologue records. I remember just loving sitting around the record player and just laughing and laughing at his skits
I’m sure there was also a sit-com on around the time on TV which I vaguely remember but can’t remember the details. Was it just called ‘Newhart’ set in a hotel?
He seemed to be something different to other comedians that force fed jokes or quick fire lines and he had a warmth in tone that was very engaging
A unique comedy great lost
2008 XXVII Platform, Bugatti Blue Roadster 4 Seater
Grew up with him, very funny the series where he was the proprietor of a small guest house in Vermont, having owned a similar property near bath i looked back and related to annoyance that guests can be! the dryness of his wit and that halting delivery came out well as Professor Proton in BBT, very funny man sadly missed and never the ‘F’ word anywhere!
