Maybe it's the louvred bonnet

Must admit to having a soft spot for these myself ... the racing ones at Goodwood do hustle along a bit!! 🙂 .... fair old price tag for a 'getaway car'

I remember them being raced at Snetterton and seeing the calipers black against the cherry red discs!

Ditto although also tempted by the slightly wider (and cheaper) S type with IRS.
I've seen the Mk2's offered with 4.2 engines. There must be plenty of serviceable ones from old XJ6's. Assume the swap is relatively easy.

I've been fortunate to own a few. They go well enough today and must have been a revelation in their day. Gratuitous picture of the last one I owned some years ago.
