I haven't heard of this, Im in the market for a new Plusfour and have a Morgan to part exchange. I was talking to one of their Uk dealers yesterday and no mention was made of this offer. Probably better to sell privatly and order after the new reg comes out in Sept. Cash waiting too. Oh well

It certainly makes you think again about the possibility of someone " doing a Caterham " with a basic trad based 4-4 double wishbone front end and five link rear -modern Japanese sub 2 litre engine , now that MMC have exited that market and gone for the sky with pricing.
I guess that the shape would be too close to what they are building for it to be allowed -a pity because many current owners could be tempted to upgrade to such a spec.

Elaine, thanks for this post - I'm on their regular email list but didn't get this information.
The most recent one I received was about a meeting at MMC on July 27..

You would think that the logical marketing brain would examine the feasibility of a poverty spec CX. The problem is that there isn't much saving on cost if you use the CX platform, and the three wheeler isn't exactly a bargain either.

I could be tempted by a new Trad, but that won't ever happen while MMC chase the tiny number of top end buyers, and seemingly overproduce.

The big players are finding that out right now.

Going back a few years before the Trads ceased production I got a request to respond to MMC about which model I thought would attract new customers.

My reply was a fairly stripped out model that younger people could afford and gradually add the extras as more money became available.

So it's no surprise I have not received any other requests for further information grin2

Could you share an official source for this please - a web page or brochure etc. I can’t find it using the usual search method. MTIA

The problem you have is Morgan are limited to just producing 1000 cars a year due to small manufacturing exemptions, it is therefore in their interest that these are at a higher price point and provide a larger margin..

On the subject a CX cars, a rather nice Plus Six for under £60k.. and a Plus Four can be had for under £50k no wonder it is tricky to find buyers for new ones

However did receive latest dealer offerings of CX's

London Mog offering a P6 at ...wait for it... £117,000

Revolutions P4 at... £93,000

If you really had that level of spend available for a toy, would you really buy a new Morgan ?

Exactly. You could buy a very nice Range Rover or say a Porsche for around 110K. I know which I would have 👍
