Fast on the heels of recent blockbuster car racing movies, such as Ford vs Ferrari, Rush and Enzo Ferrari comes TOK 258.

An inspiring and exciting tale of a cranky little antiquated English outsider that rose to dominate its class at Le Mans 62. This film has it all - adventure, excitement, dastardly French scrutineers - a tale of the plucky little underdog taking on the motoring powers of Europe. It will have comedy as well as TOK's crew frantically harass Peter Morgan back in sleepy Malvern requesting some adjustment or advice and he tells them to bloody well sod off (which he did, at first).

Starring Tom Cruise as Chris Lawrence, Brad Pitt as Richard Shepherd-Barron and Hugh Grant as Peter Morgan.

Joking aside - it really would make a great movie.

David you would be the right director after your comments about the content of the film 😎

I think I will have to both finance and direct it - no one else seems to have seized on the dramatic interest of this great episode in motoring history. Maybe Peter Jackson will take it on?

I would watch that over 99.5% of the grinding garbage put up today on the 20 paid channels available.

That would be great. How many cars were there in it’s class?

Are these the results?

https://www.racingsportscars.com/results/Le_Mans-1962-06-24.html

Was it in the GT2.0 class ? There are only two entries in that group, with the other, a AC Ace Bristol not finishing. Or are groups and classes different things? There is a 2 litre TVR Grantura that might also have been in TOK 258's class - though that did not finish due to a water leak. But the TVR is recorded as P2 rather than a GT2.0. So it looks like it was first out of two or three cars in its classification.

https://www.experiencelemans.com/contents/en-us/d132_1962_Le_Mans_24_Hours_Competitors_Results.html

gives a slightly different table and names TOK 258 as the winner in the GT 1601 - 2000cc class.

150 km/h average (93 mph) for 24 hours seems pretty impressive both for driver(s) and car in any case.
