Good morning,

Having used the search box looking for an OBD tool for diagnostic tests on my 1997 T16 plus 4, I have had no success. Is there anyone out there, who has discovered such a tool which is compatible? I seem to remember that my “local” dealer mechanic had to use an older reader as his more modern one was not suitable. Any advice appreciated.

asmair you are having trouble finding an OBD2 decoder because your car doesn't have an OBD2 port. It is however possible to access the ECU using the diagnostic link - see thread here.

BuyBritish of this parish has a T16 +4 and may be able to help as well if you PM him.

Exactly these engines are pre OBDII . What problems do you have?

I don’t know of any problems yet, I am just trying to be pre-emptive. The device I am thinking of, plugs into a block under the dash.
