According to radio 4 earlier (so it must be true...!) the sales of used EV's is up by 60 odd%.
The person (expert) being interviewed said now is the time to pick your pre loved EV bargain...... 🙃

It was on the medier so it must be true, unless it is on the Interweb, that cannot be wrong.

It would make sense, the first round of PCP BEV thingies must now be coming back into stock. So it is easier to claim growth from a base of zero!
If new car interest is not scaling then they need to sell something to be able to eat.

Okay, to ensure I don't mislead.

Lucid have not gone bust as they have secured a significant investment from a Middle Eastern organisation. It might have been a little squeaky but they are able to continue.

I am just off to spice my hat before dinner.

Looks like 7 out of 10 will be paying £410 VED soon so the manufacturers are spitting out their collective dummies grin2

Wouldn't be a problem if we built the roads properly in the first place...

I suspect it may be possible that the huge increase in vehicle ownership over quite a few decades along with all the many cuts to local authority budgets over a similar time scale has equated to an increase in wear and tear on the road system...?

Although quite unintentional, I find myself with access to quite a spread of technology in the motor vehicles available to me presently.

Quite what era of vehicle design one might attribute to my mid 80`s +8, would seem difficult to accurately assess, given it`s vintage coachwork construction, front suspension set-up, along with its rudimentary chassis design, that it`s carb fed Buick/Rover designed engine also seems to have been thought of as other than leading edge in the 60`s..? Perhaps pseudo vintage might be a reasonable definition to use for my old Mog and others of it`s ilk..?

My C4S would seem to be light years ahead of the Mog, with all the digital decision making "advances" available in a performance vehicle circa 2012, that the engine is not visible by lifting any lid as such, seems that Porsche may have designed it that way to prepare their customers for the EV evolution in their design philosophy...? But then so many modern high end vehicles have what look like expensive and decorative large plastic covers hiding their sensor encrusted and less than attractive engines hidden below...?

The 2023 Tesla is yet another stage of automotive technological advancement and around the time of purchase Tesla seemed light years ahead of manufacturers who were in the process of struggling to drag their ICE designs and workforce into the future.... I think well understand the issues involved in those processes which logically(?) seem bound to hold things back considerably. Tesla seem to have led the way forward, and of course the Chinese would have no such workforce issues and where able to then advance EV to the yet another level of production..

I suspect putting fingers in ears and singing LA, LA, LA, or even using highly tuned and well proven skills in ..err.."discussion," seem unlikely to hold back evolution.

IF EV might prove to be one of the tools in the box to slow down climate issues, that would seem a reasonable route to take for those for whom an EV might work.

As above, I can understand the mix of bilge and hate spread around relative to those who`s livelihoods may be built upon ICE manufacture and maintenance, as well as those who like me have spent the majority of their lives involved in getting down and dirty in so many ways relative to all things ICE related, and the sound track that accompanied the feeling of a job well done...

Times change much. Perhaps best to enjoy that which you can, while you can..?

BTW, have used the Mog more in the last couple of months than I have in the last decade or so.... If this carries on I may be forced to increase the mileage limit on my insurance... (-:

I am not aiming to cause a panic, just share an interesting video I found on the interweb. So it must (not) be true. Normally this channel has been quite good.
