Having local problems with tire replacements. Am on my third set of Coker Excelsior Comp H 4x19's but they have become unobtainium. Was totally underwhelmed by the stock Avons and had some indifferent luck with the Blockley line. Seems rubber formulation was also a holdout from the last war as they checked and wore out quickly.

So here is something I ran into recently. Whaddyathink?

Duro Tires

Duro is based in Taiwan as is Coker.

They look reasonable Michael H. Has anyone tried Mitas H-02 4.00 x 19 71P front tyres? They do a sidecar special version with stiffer sidewalls as well.

The Blockleys are better with about 34-36 psi, as advised by other on this forum. I usually get about 12,000 miles out of the Blockleys

My last run in with the Blockleys was a disaster. They arrived, were unwrapped, then inspected. They were checking and when I saw the manufacturer's date I saw why. They had been made exactly ten years before. It was a no-no even selling them. Back they went.

Duros are on order.

I had mounted the Michelin Scorcher 11 from Michelin intended for Harley Davidson
I inflated them to 1.8 bars, I was very satisfied ✌🏼

I run on Metzeler Cruisetec Tires 120/70ZR19 front tires. You trade mileage for superior grip and wet performance. While I don't intend to, i often drive in rain and the stock tires really had little wet grip.

I am currenlty looking into ordering tubeless rims from Turrino Wheels which would be an improvement on running tubes. Expensive.

Hi Ian
Yes I have the
Mitas H02 4.00 -19 TT 71 P € 70
And are very pleased with them.
I had a bad feeling about the Blockley rubber.
The advised pressure for the Mitas is 40 psi.
I have them at 33 PSI

I ran those Duros on my 2013 M3W and liked them. I believe I got 2 tires and 2 tubes for something like $90-100 on Amazon a few years ago.

Those prices are a thing of the past. Each tire was $105 without tubes. They arrived today and they look really good. Date mark is "2024" so that translates into the first week of May this year. It'll do. I have some minor work work to be done on one of the stock wire wheels then they get mounted and we ride!

I am sure you will like them - they were recommended to me by a guy who had 3 sets of front wheels and had gone through a few sets of tires. And settled on the Duros as the best!
