Anyone noticed how road tax is escalating?
Mine was 280 in 2021, 295 in 2022, 325 in 2023 and now 345 this year.
Bit over inflation innit...

Yes. Noted and rolled eyes. It's easing up every year.

Somebody said, on TM I think, it's my hobby, so the cost has to be swallowed. (Or something similar). I get the same feeling when the road tax & insurance land each year, but the enjoyment I get from Morgans is priceless.

Consider yourself lucky!
In Belgium I've paid € 691.43 in 2020, € 701.39 in 2021, € 764.51 in 2023 and now because our 1993 +4 is 30 years old €99.99.
As for insurance I use to pay € 361.22 a year and now I have a classic car insurance: €122.33.

Our Polos are still £20 pa & haven't changed. What they do is to hit the older tax bands so the papers say not much has changed but if you have say a 2005 Roadster you get really hit.

Someone has to make up for the loss from electric vehicles. Unintended consequences.

Mines just gone down from £575 to £190 as car reached six years of age. Not sure how long it will stay like that though thinking

I think along similar lines even though I do far too few miles per annum in my lovely old Mog, as for my EV the hit would seem to be that of insurance, given it costs so much more to insure than a Porsche with an agreed value c £70k, against a c 1year old Tesla with just over £ k on the clock, market value c £25K...? If "they" don`t get you one way they will get you another. "Free road fund licence off-set the initial hit, but as from next April.... Sigh..
