Hi all,

I’ve got a ‘95 +8 (UK spec) here in the US which I’ve imported some years back. Noticed a slight coolant leak on the center console forward of the gear stick and I’m assuming the heater matrix has had it. Wondering how difficult this is to remove and if there’s anyone making replacements as Rutter’s said they’re NLA from the factory. I guess could possibly be hoses too but I’ve not looked up under the dash yet to see the arrangement so I don’t even know if the hoses protrude into the cockpit at all or if they connect under the bonnet. Thanks and much appreciated for any help.

Aaron

Aaron, tbh before any of us could reply you would need to investigate the source of the leak.
I imagine this could well be the same thing but you will need to dig a bit deeper.

Someone across the pond wil offer a similar service if needed I'm sure, good luck with the fix.

Photos would help us . Are you sure it is coolant? he screenwash tubing often fails and that is on the firewall above the tunnel.

Many Morgan - incl. my4/4 had the problem that Richard describes!

I don' ask you to taste the liquid but if it is coolant it smells a little bit
sweet and the liquid is a little bit blunt between the fingers

To check re the screenwash: drain the reservoir (the old trick of syphoning it out with a length of plastic tubing -- go to an aquarium supplier) then re-fill it with water with a coloured dye. Operate the washers, and if you get a coloured drip, that's your problem. But why not just drop the dash ? Easy and nothing to be afraid of, use a blanket etc to protect whatever it might descend upon.

Definitely coolant gents. It’s pink which is the color of what’s in the rad. I’ll have a gander up under there and let you guys know what I find..

Could be just a connection to the heater rad. Good look and check before buying parts!

When mine failed years ago I took it to a radiator specialist who took one look and said a lorry cab heater will do that job - it did too

If it's just a tiny weep, you could try K-Seal
