But, my real favourite of the relatively few that I have attended, has to be The Vintage Revival at Montlhéry. Fabulous.
We are off to the Revival for Friday, going up tomorrow and coming back Saturday, taking the Swedish barge XC90 as weather from West Country looks foul tomorrow. We havent been for a few years so looking forward to it, hopefully the weather will hold on Friday. Does anyone know if the MMC plan a display this year?, I suspect that as they were at the FOS they may miss the Revival.. I know Pembleton will be there, so interested to take another look at their 4 wheeler..

I had to provide the provenance of my 1935 ex works New Imp including its in period TT, MGP and Brooklands entries.
Freddie Frot was a great help in getting the entry sorted.

Yes, Montlhéry is an amazing mix of strange propulsion methods never seen elsewhere, we've been three times and it even snowed once, driving the banked circuit was a BIG tick on the bucket list
I hadnt read it but I am sure the Duke is onto something, when they had the Mk 1 Lotus Cortina race a year or two back the modifications where so wild as to be externally visible never mind what had been done under the bonnet. This does a disservice to all classic racing creating effectively silhouette racers that only resembled the actual 60's cars , and yes I am looking at you Austin A40 Farinas and the big Austin that Karun was driving last year , in reality in the 60's these would not hold a candle to an Alfa Giulietta under top speed or braking. (yes I was a long term Alfisti)
As an ex Alfisti myself I quite agree but its a real grey area. The walkinshaw 850 volvo springs to mind if Iremember correctly they took a slice off the head slanted it and gained 70 or 80 extra bhp. Someone once said if you aint chetin you aint racing. The cars never went round that quick back in the day......
