Seems we both have been insured with G&W for the same period of time... I have ever thought the real value in insurance was not the cost of the premium,(within reason) but how efficiently claims might be dealt with. It is good to have an update on claims handling from time to time, more so as insurance evolves... Thanks Dave.

Try SAGA.......! I've been with them for quite a few years now for 'normal cars' and house. When I renewed my 320d touring at the start of this month the next best quote was nearly £500 dearer....! I'm just in the process of swapping the 320d for a 530d touring and the quote is £75 cheaper for a newer, more valuable more powerful car.....🤷🏻♂️
*********Apologies to those who don't meet the age criteria for SAGA, but I thought I was pretty safe suggesting them on TM......!!😆**********

I too would have liked to stay with G&W but the cost was prohibitive. G&W £717, MSCC lot £680 & Admiral £560. Ididn't see G&W dropping the price by £167 & if they did I would be worried about how they viewed me as a client.
Prices include legal protection, personal accident & "home start" style break down cover. G&W unlimited mileage & with Admiral 9k miles pa. I normally do 7-9k.
The highest quote £1400 the lowest was £440 but missed many add ons & had a very high excess of £1000.

John, I guess for older Morgans the premiums may be a bit less, and perhaps more so if one puts a mileage limitation on the policy, and in my case I think I set mileage at 3K, though it is an agreed policy for circa £30k, and can`t remember the premium, but do not think it is any more than £300 + If anyone really wants to know, I will dig out the paperwork..

Yes it affects the cost but it is our hobby. Previously in 2023 for the Roadster it was 430 plus 60 to move to the plus four part way through so annualised c 600.

For 22 years with my BGTV8 I used Peter Best Insurance because they were MGCC approved and the cheapest by far. In 2008 I simply transferred the cover to my Roadster and assumed that it would be competitive, Peter Best was included on the MSCC approved insurers list. I don't remember now how much that was. But here's the thing. At the 2009 Mog, Gott & Wynne had a stall, and so I enquired about cover, and it was around £100 cheaper than Peter Best. Not only that but the two guys were knowledgeable and helpful. I've stayed with G&W ever since and just renewed. 2005 Roadster + 2016 Plus 4 on 5k miles each came out at £699. I don't think £350 each is a bad deal.
PS, in the early days, G&W supplied a breakdown as to how the premium was calculated, and the agreed value was a big player in this.

My Plus 8 came out at £367 this year with 5k limit and legal cover £30k with Finch - ex Headley. I shall look around next June as Heather’s Polo 1.8 GTI was quoted at £370 by F just this month and I looked around and got identical cover for £170…

There was a good article around the best time to get pricing and peak periods on Martins Money. https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/insurance/car-insurance/September being the peak for new registrations there is a large peak and so best to get quotes a month early and set the start date. I guess many of you are all well versed in planning things like this, I had not even thought about it that way.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Received my G & W renewal yesterday. 2010 Plus Four, 3000 mile cap. Legal & Breakdown included. Agreed value £35k. £370 - about the same as last year.
Thought I’d give MSCC Insurance a go. Same cover = £634.
