I am awaiting my new Plus Four and meanwhile I've got a driveway contractor coming to look at the entry angle from the street. My other car (Porsche Taycan) scrapes on entry in a couple of places even on high ride height, so I expect the Morgan will struggle.
The street has been badly maintained and the centre is much higher than the gutter. We probably have to live with that. We would then flatten out the crossover and entrance somewhat, and make a gentle rise up to the level where cars are parked.
Just wondered whether others have been through this and have any suggestions or actual data. There was some helpful conversation on the forum many years ago (including an interesting suggestion to make a wooden frame as a test tool) but not much since. Would welcome any thoughts.

I have only scraped my CX once and the bit that hit was the 4 exhaust pipes that bend under the tub to the final box. How low that ride height is on an angle I don't know.

I also regularly graze with my exhaust when I drive into the garage. A solution would also be helpful for me. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2023/06/12/IMG_1617.jpeg)

Having moved to a new house with a steep drive I had no alternative other than fit a side exit exhaust as the catalyst inners were being destroyed. That worked for the exhaust but approaching from one uphill direction with a passenger the bumper support bracket one side will scrape, have do a three point turn to get in unscathed.
Mine is a 93 +4, no idea about the clearance on other models and off course angle of drive and approach will vary. Some ferry ramps are also a problem and they can vary with the tide height. On a drive you could try using coloured chalk to see where underside is scraping or even putting a couple of extra pounds in rear tyres, or getting the wife to get out first, thats the dangerous bit.

The previous owner of my 2009 Roadster had a steep driveway. It was exiting up and over over the ridge at the top that caught and grazed the tailpipes. So he ran the tyres at 26psi, but that made the ride harsher -- since acquiring the car I have run them at 22psi as per the Handbook. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2024/08/29/Showing-where-the-exhaust-was-catching.jpg)

I use a couple of shortened scaffold planks for mine as the rear pipes ground out.
My larger and wider wheels (7 x 16) perform best at 20psi and for a Plus 8 it's a comfortable supple low ride.

This subject has been on TM in the past, for pre-CX models, often relating to boarding ferries. On my 20+ year old 4/4, it has rarely been an issue, if suitable caution is maintained. However, everyone can get caught out! In my case it was on a steep left hand bend, with the luggage rack loaded, on a trip to Northern Spain. Scrape! Now part of the patina!

Oh Yes: scraping exhaust. I had to make a small extra ramp to use it with my two normal ramps if I want to drive on my trailer. Without this short extra ramp my exhaust ends scrap on the ground

Scaping exhaust on my PLusFour: ofter, even being very careful and approaching speed bumps slowly and diagonally if possible. Next week we take the ferry Hook-Harwich, fingers crossed!🤞 With my 1990 4/4 we seldom had those issues, only the numberplate below the rear bumper!

Ruut, the Dutch side is normally ok. The problem is once in the UK we have major potholes so you will need to dodge & weave like you are in Africa. Sorry for that . Let me know which ferry & I'll wave from across the Orwell. Harwich is a wet 4 miles from my house.
