SPOOKY!

As I logged out I received an email from Peter James (MSCC Ins) offering me cover at exactly the same price as G&W… £264 cheaper than yesterday afternoon!

Hats off to them, the lad was very helpful and said the Morgan World was new to them.

To quote The Clash…. ‘Should I stay or should I go.’ 🤔😊

It’s like for like. Includes breakdown (UK & Europe) and Legal.

Only differences I can see are the Policy excess is £250 rather than £200 and it allows me to drive other MSCC Owners Morgans.

Total Premium £370.09

I assume you told them what they had to match? If so and you go to PJ the fun will start next year.

I rung PJ when my insurance was up for renewal but I refused to tell them what my GW quote was. They would only give me an estimate, it was 20% up on the GW price.

Cheers
John.

Spooky, or is there a mole somewhere? Too coincidental to get offered exactly the same price surely?

So, if you had accepted the day before, they would have made a killing. I find it difficult to deal with companies like that.
And…If the “Morgan world” is new to them, settling Morgan claims will certainly be even newer!
Note also, I am told that you are not covered if you park your car with the hood down (unlike G & W for instance.)

Ah, now I can help you there!

Should I stay, or should I go now?
Should I stay, or should I go now?
If I go, there will be trouble
And if I stay, it will be double

Good !, G&W have supported the MSCC and annual Mog events for many years and ended up binned in favour of a solus deal just so the club could get a golden handshake on top of the £100's of thousands sat in the bank anyway

This is worthy of thread resurrection and relates to quotes received today from both Gott & Wynne and Peter James for the Plus 4 with ClubSport upgrade and very many modifications.

The renewal quote from G&W came in at £20 less than last year - even with this year’s ClubSport fitment.

More out of curiosity than anything else, following the regular features now appearing in Miscellany’s pages, PJ were approached with identical details.

The result was a surprising 34% increase over G&W’s quote. Accepted there are some elements in PJ’s policy not included in the G&W offering, but not worth this price hike imho.

Needless to say, the existing faith in G&W has been more than consolidated.

The question does remain - what were MSCC thinking when they ditched G&W?

Commission £££ for MSCC !
A solus supplier is not independently in the interest of members, if it was why do they have a column in the Mag that continuously apologises for 'not quite understanding the members risk profile' ?
