That could be a NZ photo of the time -though the Big Bertha Vauxhall would be more likely a Monaro

Murray it could well have been, I borrowed it from the Broadspeed site.

I luved these days...Paul Fahey in the Capri and Jack Nazor in the V8 Vauxhall Victor? Just luved the tyres and the close racing...massive. These were the days when the drivers essentially built the cars they raced.

Rich so it was, I bought my first Alfa off Paul Fahey, he had a local car dealership in St Heliers Auckland, and I knew Jack Nazer in later years when he took up yacht racing.

The Capri was a genuine works Cologne Capri that Paul imported. Hence the left hand drive.

Richard, while I have long been a fan of Porsche, I ever thought their engines looked like the innards of a washing machine, more so when compared with the first time the bonnet was lifted on a Jaguar to reveal my first sight of an XK unit, with it`s high black gloss stove enamelled exhaust manifolds, and polished rocker covers....

Truth be told given the choice of ownership between that in your pic above, or the Jag in this rather lengthy car advertisment below, It would be the Jag for me....

John, this car appeared on the short list for an actual kids "Hot Wheels" competition at the NEC recently, so it's possible we may see them in the shops whilst browsing for our grandchildren..

George, as always horses for courses and as the later Le Mans required quite a lot more horses this would be my choice with her clothes on. Sublime engineering and looks love
