General info about shockers via google seem to suggest that 50-100 k miles is normal.
Mine are OEM at 13 years old and have done 53k miles and appear to be working well. They have been supplemented by Rog’s bump stops for the past 5 years.

The new SPAX seem to have a sufficient range of movement. Yes, they're a good shock. I fitted a set in 2003 and they were still ok when I put the SSL on in 2013. Thanks Tim - that is good to know.

Just back from a 20 mile test drive over some of the more challenging roads in the vicinity (the ones we avoid if the horses are in the trailer behind us in the Disco!). The car seems transformed. Roger's spring assisters had eliminated the crashes from the rear. The front doesn't bottom out any more. And there is no nodding from the front (although there wasn't before). The car feels a lot more comfortable and just as sharp as it ever was.
As recommended for our 4/4, I have left the SPAX adjusters on the softest setting for now. We have a full touring load trip next week - I may go up 4 clicks at the first comfort break depending on how we feel.

Paul, That's very reassuring to hear, whilst mine is very compliant at the moment I'm sure the current newness will wear off. Does any one know if Roger still produce those bump stops? Not "Bump Stops" John, that may spark a hissy fit from certain quarters!!!  "Spring Assisters" please. Correctly positioned they will progressively cushion suspension travel on full bump. Without them, all you have is the token rubber strip on the rear hoop, and the dampers at full compression. Not all dampers have integral bump stops.  Send Rog a PM. I suspect he may still have some.

I'll contact Roger and see if he has any bump stop spring assisters left.
When my Roadster had its adjustable rear dampers replaced (before I bought it) they didn't fit the required bump stop damper and it crashed over everything thicker than a hair (slight over statement) but tout de suite replacements were sourced with the requisite bump stop.

Here's what they look like as supplied, and as fitted to my Roadster, the circular witness mark shows where the rubber cone contacts the springs.
