I feel for you Being that I am restoring my Second Etype to an extreme standard (well I think so ) I know what goes into getting and keeping a car to this standard. I never ever leave a car at any dealership unless its gauranteed to stay inside. Even with my modern cars that are generally used all year I'm terrified of getting dings etc...even greasy finger marks. Hope you get the result you're after. Just a note .....Why was the Starter motor not painted or similar.......it was always going to go rusty even if never driven in the rain. Or is it something they just fitted??

Viper , I had been having problems with it staring and Ben Duncan sent me 3 differant ones 1st started it when it was only cold 2nd started it when it was only hot 3rd would not start it at all . I found out it was somthing else , poor lad was scratching his head and sent them one at a time . This s/motor had just been taken out of the box and fitted so the car would start to be put on the trailer . I has since been fitted with another brand new one . Not a chance of it going rusty I take to much care of it . The car never gets wet I can count on less than one hand in 24 years how many times it has got wet. I love E Types but can never make up my mind if its a Coupe or a rag top that I would purchase. JTL.

I thought that would be the case. It must be incredibly low mileage if its never used in the rain. I bought my Aero a couple of months ago with the view to using it all weather. True to form its not seen rain yet and is unlikely too either. I just cant do it. E Type wise....Coupe all the way, its the definitive E shape.

In 1990 It had done 19500m But was so slow at top speed a dog pissed on my wheel as I drove past . I started on the engine 1st then the brakes and suspension and steering etc etc etc Mike Duncan popped in a 1905cc it was about 120bhp at the wheels its not fast but quick and can nip up a bank in 5th thanks to a tip from Bill Blydstien its on 38000 now so only done 19 in 21 year . Daughter came along 1n 1992 and its a 2 seater all my mates did the same then sold the mog . My idea was to work on it over the years as she grew up then start higher up the tree . John T

JAE, Welcome to the Forum. Can I suggest that you open a new Subject/ Post in the 'Welcome Forum'. Introduce yourself and give some details of what you are considering buying, and say whether new or pre-owned, and where you are located. And then just sit back and wait for feedback. Bottom line is buyer beware and go in with your eyes wide open.

As a newbie, I'm reading a lot of the old posts and trying to learn about all things Morgan.
So apologies for bringing up a slightly aged thread!
What happened in this case? Was there a court case, or is this still to happen?
I successfully sued a dealer who crashed my (then) brand new Murcielago, repaired it and lied about it - saying it had never happened (despite there being yellow paint on the still new tyres!).
This sounds like neglect rather than something more wilful, but I'd be interested to hear the outcome.
