Thanks to all for the info, mine's a pukka paid for AVG so I won't be uninstalling and swopping to another, even with an exemption set up it still blocks the site

This issue with tm-img is a right pita as I've promised to upload some shots of the stages to replace the hood pull cable for another TM member and I also can't access all my helpful maintenance stored shots either

Jon, I joined Flickr during the Photsickbucket debacle and that worked ok.

When I have got over the pita of imagery I'll maybe rejoin them I can't be rsed right now, at the moment I'm enjoying my topless traffic free runs through the glorious Devon lanes enjoying the pre autumnal vibe including an Emu and Albino Wallabies and a herd of Fallow deer.

It sounds like you're their perfect customer! smile Most people who have been sold a product that doesn't work would either ask for a fix or demand a refund, not persist just because they paid for it!

Seriously, I used AVG for a few years when it was released and it was very good, I recommended it to many people then. But once Windows built-in Defender became a viable alternative I have used nothing else since. I reinstalled AVG last week to check this problem and quickly verified that the product was at fault. Not only did it block TM-IMG, but it also prevented my email client from contacting any email servers, claiming they were unsafe. I removed it again so I could use email, and in doing so I noticed that it had deactivated Windows Defender without notification and left it deactivated, which I consider unacceptable. Based on this limited experience I wouldn't recommend AVG now.

As stated in earlier replies, there is no threat from TM-IMG. Report this to AVG and get your money back!

Seems like a great bit of investigating Ian.... Well done sir.. It does seem that digital dependence is becoming ever more important even in the basics of life and trying to keep pace or worse still trying to resolve issues would seem to be unfathomable for even those who earned their coin surrounded by it all but a few years ago...?

I receive semi regular texts from my local health centre informing me not to try to visit on whatever day I receive the text informing me of staff shortages due to illness or whatever, should I have a medical issue... I received a text from them on Friday to inform me they had on going critical IT issues with no access to patient records or create prescriptions thus If I had an appointment for that day their services would be somewhat limited..... Yeah digital dependence when systems fail, seem to have next to zero backup facilities built in, and reverting to human intervention to resolve them neither has the numbers or skills base to keep things running....

As for digital security... Hmm..? Apparently the top job in UK cyber security which was reported to be recently advertised carries a an annual salary of £60k .... So we can all sleep and sound safe in our beds.

Yeah, definitely in grumpy old f*rt mood this morning..?

I really appreciate everybodies efforts on this subject but as we are totally committed to AVG for AV, Driver updates, Tune up and Anti track all of which has served us well for a couple of decades.

As the image gallery is the only site it does not like the flavour of it would be folly to jump ship.
Keeping everything in proportion I excel at I'm told by those that matter to me grin2

If AVG clear the reported exception all well and good, if not that's ok too more Morgan time and tending the roses thumbs

More than happy to post them into TM-IMG and send some links as a test or to help your friend if you want. PM me and I can send an email to you, email me the images and I will put them up and send you a DM with the links if it's useful. Best not to post email addresses on an open forum as the pesky spiders look for them and add them to spam lists.

I am going to call this a closed issue.

I have done everything possible, as have others (thank you Ian and Alistair), and it has been reported to AVG as a false positive. As it seems to be the only AV system that has a problem I quite honestly have better things to do with my time than chase the customer support an overzealous and faulty AV program.

There is one small issue that I have updated in site management. I had noticed that "Force HTTPS: redirect" was not activated for some reason. Probably it was changed with the last change of server. From now on the any access should be forced to the secure site.

I will make one comment. If anyone is having issues with TM-IMG it would perhaps be a good idea to contact me directly, either by email, the site contact form (https://tm-img.com/page/contact), or by PM on Talk Morgan either on this user name (used exclusively for TM-IMG) or on the Gambalunga user name.

Despite adding TM-IMG as an exception, AVG still incorrectly blocks it - so AVG has now been replaced by Avast on my PCs smile
