Hi Folks.
Neither brake light working on 1993 Plus 4
Looked at the fuse box, however, no indication of which fuse I need to change.
Can anyone advise me of the fuse I need to look at?
Top row left to right:
Empty, Empty, 10, Empty, 10,25, 5,10,5,15
Bottom row left to right:
25,25,15,15,15,15,15,15,5,Not labelled

Interestingly, looking at the GoMog info, most of the fuses in my fuse box are the incorrect rating!!
I’ve run the car for 12yrs with no problems, but should I change them now ?
I sense this may end up being a nightmare!?!?

I would not assume they are wrong, just different from GoMog, there seems to be an air of mystery around that wiring period. suggest read the panel on the right of the page?

Don't assume it's a fuse issue Gary. Even it it has blown, why? Exactly, if it is just a fuse great, and easy to rectify but the "normal" issue on a trad of this vintage is the stop light switch. This is operated by hydraulic pressure in the brake line, and is usually found on top of the chassis rail on the left side of the engine compartment. Not the most difficult of diy tasks but access can be awkward unless you have a ramp/lift. The biggest problem is getting the old switch out without damaging the brake lines into the union.

If you do it quickly you don't need to bleed the brakes. You can test if it is the pressure switch by shorting the wires once off the switch.

I changed mine on the Plus8. Gripped the bake line "manifold" gently to prevent damage to the lines, unscrew the switch. Quick swop to new one, and brakes tested . No loss of pressure. Make sure you get the right replacement as there are 3 ( I think) versions.

I did mine on my roadster a couple of times. I got fed up with the short lifespan so I took some 13amp wire from the terminals on the hydraulic unit through to a fridge door light switch mounted on a wooden block in front of the pedal. Never troubled me again.
