So, I have googled this to no end, searched TM across all possible searches and I can not for the life of me find what engine air filter is used in the 4/4 1.6 Sigma. I found one Morgan retailer listing showing something for a 4/4 but at almost £30 plus I am assuming the 4/4 is using some sort of Ford filter which could be had a fraction of the cost.
Not interested in K&N but just a normal paper one. It looks like there is a separate foam bit as well.
I did remove my filter but there isn't any number on it for me to search further on.
Very unusual not to find a number on the old filter, are you sure you checked the end of the actual paper element flaps ? this is usual place for the FomoCo ref
I did check the filter carefully Jon and found nothing which I found odd, hence me asking...
As for taking my filter to Halfords, well, if I could I would have but unfortunately I can't. There are 1000's of threads posted of people asking for help on part numbers and didn't get the sense asking is frowned upon.
If someone has some constructive info on the original ask, I would be very grateful for it. The MMC part number that I found which I think is correct doesn't bring up the FoMoCo equivalent when doing more searches on what alternatives are out there.
It's been 10 years now since my 4/4 Sport went but I do remember the Focus Haynes manual covered the engine which I passed on to a TM member a while back. I recall the air box being angular this vid maybe helpful and also reveals the number WA6535. This link gives you the dimensions as a check.

It's always worth asking at a decent dealer, you might find an enthusiast who is willing to help.
The Ecotec engine in my 4/4 is a GM/Vauxhall/Opel unit, and when I went in to my local Vauxhall main dealer to order timing belt and cam wheels for it they were fascinated that I had a Z18XER engine in a Morgan. A couple of them trooped out to have a look at it, pointed out the non-standard components (of which there are hardly any) which was very helpful and then made me an honorary member of the Sri Owner's Club so they could give me a 10% discount. Good lads.

I'm puzzled by this post. Michael Palmer's book "Morgan 4/4 The First 75 years" doesn't list any GM engines being used in 4/4s (solidly Ford from 1955 apart from a dalliance with Fiat in the early eighties). Was this an upgrade by the owner? I can see the sense as the Z18XER has more oumph that than the Duratex (1800) or Zetec (1600) engines as provided by the faxtory. But both the Ford engines are easily tweaked and any Morgan dealer will know what they're dealing with.
