Hi Caroline.
I am not an expert on these matters but it occurs to me that it might be the cut off switch which has 'fired', This is to be found on the passenger side bulkhead under the bonnet. There is usually a red button on top which you push down to reset the electrics. Hope this helps & best of luck - Brendan.

I’m not too sure exactly what is affected but the inertia switch, usually it is the fuel system. But, is well worth a try as Brendan has indicated. Otherwise I doubt it is anything catastrophic, simply a major connection has become “undone”.
There are a couple of members who are far more capable than me in knowledge and the ability to easily explain and who will offer advice real soon.
Best of luck.

There are 3 regional MSCC centres near you. This link to the MSCC site will give you the details. I'm sure they would have people able to advise you & look at the car.

I had the same a while ago with my 2005 roadster. Turned out lots of the electrics had been put through the first fuse, I think its called the ignition fuse, If I remember it was a 20A one, the first in the box. I temporarily put a 30A in but didnt risk turning the heater on again until I got it sorted. My Morgan garage (Life's at Stockport) arranged for the high draining items to be wired separately on their own / different fuses. For info mine blew (ground to a halt) when I had, heated front windscreen, heated seat, lights, heater and obvs engine all turned on, I cant remember which was the last I turned on that blew it Im afraid.

Caroline, there are two fuse boxes or sets in your car. One 20 way (two rows of 10) under the dash which deals with individual aspects of the cars electrics but also an eight way set of higher current fuses each with brown wires feeding in directly from battery with brown/red wires feeding out. I suspect one of these given your description of fault, as each fuse protects several circuits. Top of the list to check would be the 30 amp ignition switch fuse, the first one in this set. If a blown fuse is found and replaced getting your car running again, suggest you not turn everything on together until the reason for it blowing is found. Make sure you have extra spare fuses as well.

Hi Richard Thank you for the advice. I have purchased a set of fuses. I am struggling to take the tray off in order to get at the battery as I have managed to jam the release rail whilst trying to take the roof down. When I pull the latch behind the drivers seat the left side releases but the right side is stuck This has never happened before I fear I have done something while trying to do this When I have found a solution I will look for the fuse box next to the battery I have removed the metal cover behind the drivers seat but am unable to see the fuse box from there Many thanks Caroline

Caroline, on the hood. I would relock he hood fully and then pull the handle whilst pushing down on the right side & trying to slide the hood side to side. You might need a helper for this. 2006 was a transition year for trads. 2006 -14 MMC parts book shows the fusebox like this ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2024/10/15/Screenshot-2024-10-15-140341.png) This box is on the bulkhead in the engine compartment above the drivers footwell.
