The Dell Boy sheep skin rug is a bid odd It reminds me of that 'orrible 70's bathroom carpet Shag. And I'm not talking about tobacco, hair, the dance, the large sea bird or any other kind of bird....

Bit odd -- it's bonkers ! Go for a walk in the woods at this time of year and when you get back to the car, the LAST thing you need to put your muddy boots on is sheepskin rug. Rubber mats is the way to go. And as for the marketing blurb, MMC just don't learn -- try deciphering what "A curated selection of exclusive options showcases Morgan's unique bespoke ability" means.

The Dell Boy sheep skin rug is a bid odd That marketing blurb smacks of AI speak 🙄

As readers of TM may guess we love our Plus Six, I defend it for what it is ( raw), but I also try to point out its positives and correct its issues ( mostly build and QC on ours ) .. However, the most bonkers thing I have seen with this last limited addition is the thick sheepskin floor carpet they are rabbiting on about.. Has no one in Morgan marketing and sales ever lived in the countryside?.. Have they ever seen what a sheep looks like after its lived in a muddy field... Christ almighty that carpet will look terrible if the car is ever used in a climate other than a sandless desert. As for the experience of rubbing your feet through the carpets thickness ( mentioned in video ) try that on a sheep thats just come out of a wet field, its normally covered in "cling ons" which is what the carpet will look like after any major use. We have the boxweave ( semi commercial ) carpet in our Plus Six and I still have to use a rubber floor mat to protect its finish.. How on earth can you safely use a protective floor mat on a thick rug fitted inside a car and still operate the foot controls... I do think the MMC designers have lost their marbles with this...
Sorry rant over... They have never tried putting a Bolus down a sheep neck or drenching them, there is nothing in the world as greasy as their wool and they stink and are all looking for any excuse to die.. The sheepskin mats will soak up the leaks for sure but will be a bugger to dry out unless they come with legs. I once got caught out with no side screens or roof 75 miles from home and had to drive back in it great fun. But whipped the mats out and had to drill a couple of holes in the floor to let the 1" of water out., that was in my last Plus 8 so far I have been lucky.

Well I liked the look of it, particularly with Teak veneer , but those wheels no. With the pricing if you were in the market for a new Plus Six makes sense , but I imagine there will only ever be the six early Pus Sixes in NZ that I have seen -unless people ship them in privately . What comes next with the same running gear is the question? Calling the Plus Six a pinnacle when compared to the Aeromax -not really . Like him or not Charles built something there with the right peoples backing that has stood the test of time as a work of automotive art.

Working in this field I can say with confidence that it doesn't normally happen like that Julian. Spec up a normal Plus Six and it comes quite a lot more expensive than this LE. MMC isn't the first nor the last to do this. Update: A normal Plus Six with all the content of the Pinnacle comes out to just over £107,000 and that doesn't account for the bespoke content. They did this with the 4/4 80th Anniversary which had more tat, made it exclusive to just 80 and yet again, priced attractively. I was one of the suckers who bought it sight unseen Love it or hate it, it's marketing and keeps the factory running and skilled people employed. Considering the market, I for one am happy to see this. 😁 I don't think 30 is particularly 'exclusive', equally I don't think 80 was very exclusive for the 80th 4/4.🤷🏻♂️ In relation to normal build numbers, 30 plus 6's is probably a large percentage of the annual build total...... Lipstick on a pig is phrase that comes to mind.....😆 I totally accept that it is all marketing, and they certainly do have to market hard in these times to sell a lot more cars to make the balance sheet look a bit more impressive.

With all the "issues" of the later cars I remain very happy with my old reliable trad with its wooden dash lockable glove box -plenty of room behind the seats for stowage and of course the V8 soundtrack and easy mile gobbling grunt.

Concerning the lambswool matts, I don't think MMC is expecting owners to go walking in a muddy field and the put their boots on them. They simply wanted to add something unique and what will be special to those looking to order one.
Again, not the first nor the last. Land Rover did the same with the Autobiography Defender in that it had a very deep pile and dare I say luxurious rear floor mat, removable, as part of the spec.
While I agree MMC has areas they need to improve to play in this market, and the dealer network for that matter, can we just be happy that they are still around and keeping a workforce employed? Someone reading this would get the sense that us as Morgan owners would be thrilled to see them fail.
Let's face it, right or wrong, MMC have moved on from what used to be their customer base. Get used to it and enjoy what you have.

I get the impression that the typical Morgan owner these days is expected to wear yacht shoes with no socks, cream-coloured slacks, a blazer, have a deep tan and be 'Considerably richer than Yow'!

I get the impression that the typical Morgan owner these days is expected to wear yacht shoes with no socks, cream-coloured slacks, a blazer, have a deep tan and be 'Considerably richer than Yow'! I have to agree thats how MMC seem to be going... I am a little late to the Morgan world, we came from Mercedes C63, loved the engineering of those cars and their V8 engines but hated being hassled all the time by boy racers when driving.. So we purchased a 3.7 Roadster, as an ex mech engineer I enjoyed working on the areas that needed some attention with that car, but I found the rev hang annoying after a while and the clutch heavy for a ( at the time ) slightly dodgy left foot.. We visited the show rooms and purchased the Plus Six.. . Nice overall design similar to the Roadster. A good engine with plenty of grunt, improved engineering ( well most of it ), an auto box ( dodgy left foot - now fixed though) and much improved road holding.. It basically ticked all the right boxs for us and we still enjoy the car... However..Since our purchase of the Plus Six it does feel like the MMC have changed direction, I look at the various options now available and just do not like what I see very much.. the redesign of the interior dash started it for me for the Plus Four and Six, followed by the front end of this years MY Plus Four and now they have made the last Plus Six " fluffy". I honestly want the company to succeed and hope the next model works out.. but somehow I doubt we will purchase another MMC product.. I just dont feel connected with them any more and I dont like the over exaggerated bull of the marketing. There is nothing to "get over" from where they are heading.. its just how it is..
