When did fish and chips not become a cheap meal for the family. Last night  fancied fish and chips, not something we usually have. Local chip shop visited for a cheap takeaway WOW medium Cod £8 each, medium chips £2.70. No wonder there wasn't a queue

I was chatting to another chap in the Men's Shed and he said a pint in our local is now over £5!! To me, that's London prices.

My locals in South London have beers from £5.50 to £6.50 but we can pay more in other pubs .
My two local but good chip shops are Cod at £10.95 and £12.45. Chips at £ 2.35 and £4 Mush P at £2
In order to be relevant, I have stopped eating f & C and drinking at the pub to help save up for my new Morgan or renovation project ! Trouble is the fish is so good you have made me fancy it especially as it is Friday Thanks a lot……MM

Every time I visit Britain, my first stop: Peter’s Fish in Ramsgate.
Two weeks ago fish (cod) and chips for about 10,-GBP.

Going to the movies has also become expensive, €19.50 here in this small town. (16,25 pounds). If you also want popcorn and cola, that adds up.
