Thanks for these ideas everyone. Really useful. Unfortunately we will have our dog with us and be without a car on this occasion so some of them will have to wait for next time.

The next time you go and have your car you should drive over into Herefordshire its not far and do the Black and White Trail. It is a beautiful drive in a Morgan with great villages and Pubs, we used to live on the trail, a great place to stay is Lowe Farm B&B in Pembridge( https://lowefarm.co.uk/) Juliet and Clive are good friends of ours.
